My first exposure to crew and rowing came when I went to Penn in the early '60s. Races on the Schuykill are often an all-day affair with lots of classes and heats, and substantial crowds. The undergraduate portion of the crowds are usually there for a party as well as the racing, and so I always had a lot of fun.
Racing on Lake Augusta is currently a different atmosphere, more like a social gathering of the rowers. But it's still fun to shoot, and so I betook myself the other day to the race between the women of Bucknell and Buffalo. I hope you enjoy these photos.
